Consultant Chemist
Caroline Scherrer is a Consultant Chemist based in our Tholen office.
Caroline Scherrer earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Texas A&M University, after which she joined an independent laboratory in Houston, Texas that specialises in testing for dispute situations.
She then joined a pharmaceutical lab and in 2014 became part of the risk department of a global chemical transportation and storage company. It was here that she gained valuable experience in managing cargo claims, operational issues and organising witnessed analyses for quality and quantity disputes, in particular concerning liquid cargoes.
Caroline also gained practical experience working for a well-known salvage trader as group consultant chemist and spent time working for a consultancy firm in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
She joined MTD as a Consultant Chemist in 2023, specialising in liquid cargo disputes for specialty chemicals, vegetable oils, petroleum and petrochemicals. She has prepared reports and testimony as an Expert Witness in the United States and attended ships, terminals and laboratories worldwide.
