Technical Director – Materials Science
Peter is a Technical Director of Materials Science based in our Cardiff office.
Peter is an experienced materials scientist with a Masters degree in Materials Science and Metallurgy from the University of Cambridge. Peter began his career in the materials testing industry where he worked for a wide variety of clients in various industries including the aerospace, automotive, marine and food sectors. In this role he first provided expert advice and acted as an expert witness.
After this he worked in industry as a production and development manager in a specialist polymer coating company before returning to investigative work as an independent consulting materials scientist. During his time as an independent he worked for a variety of clients on failure investigations and expert witness cases, particularly for trading standards and personal injury claims.
In 2002 Peter joined MTD as a consultant materials scientist where his skills have been used in investigation, consultancy, and litigation work for our clients. These cases have spanned a wide range of industries including the energy, marine, construction, industrial and raw materials sectors. Peter is experienced in court cases and arbitration both in the UK and abroad and has given expert evidence in several countries.
